14 Arab and Palestinian Groups Appeal for Protection of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque

Fourteen Arab and Palestinian organizations have issued an urgent appeal calling for international action to protect occupied Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque amid what they describe as escalating tensions.

The groups warned of increased raids, restrictions on worshippers, and measures they say threaten the historic and legal status of the holy site. They also raised concerns over settlement expansion, demolitions, residency issues and restrictions affecting both Muslim and Christian communities in Jerusalem.

The appeal called for stronger political, legal and human rights efforts to prevent further changes to the city’s status and urged Jordan, as custodian of Jerusalem’s holy sites, to help mobilize an international response.

The organizations said statements alone are insufficient and called for concrete measures to protect Jerusalem’s heritage, religious sites and residents.
