Iran Preparing Conditions to Reopen Strait of Hormuz, Security Chief Says

Iran is preparing a list of conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, according to security official Mohsen Rezaei, as regional efforts intensify to reduce tensions and reach an agreement with the United States.

Speaking to Lebanon’s Al Manar TV, Rezaei said Iran would present its conditions to mediators, including a demand to end the ongoing war in the region.

He also said Iran had reached an agreement with Oman on a possible transit corridor through the strait. Under the arrangement, ships would use a designated central channel if the United States accepts Tehran’s conditions.

The announcement comes as Qatar’s prime minister holds talks in Tehran, joining wider diplomatic efforts by regional countries to facilitate US-Iran de-escalation and potentially restore shipping through the strategically important waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical global energy route, making any prolonged disruption a major concern for international trade and oil markets.
