Turkey and Egypt Agree on Stronger Measures Over Gaza Crisis

Turkey and Egypt have agreed to take “more serious measures” in response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said after talks with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty in Egypt.

Fidan said the discussions focused on urgent steps to address the humanitarian situation, increase aid deliveries, stop the killing of Palestinians and ensure compliance with the Gaza peace plan.

He sharply criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government, arguing that their policies have turned the Gaza crisis into a wider international security concern.

Fidan stressed that Gaza is no longer only a regional issue and called for greater cooperation between Turkey, Egypt and the international community to pursue a lasting solution.

Despite diplomatic efforts and ceasefire initiatives, Israeli forces continue to carry out airstrikes, artillery attacks and gunfire across Gaza, with Palestinian civilians continuing to be killed and injured.
