Trump Changed Planes in Turkey After Iran Proxy Threat, Report Says

US President Donald Trump reportedly changed aircraft while departing Turkey earlier this month after US intelligence identified a credible security threat linked to Iranian proxy groups, according to The New York Times.

The report said Trump had arrived in Ankara for the NATO summit aboard a Boeing 747-8 donated by Qatar, which reportedly lacks some of the advanced defensive systems found on the traditional Air Force One aircraft.

Following the intelligence assessment, the US Secret Service advised Trump to switch planes before leaving Turkey. According to officials cited by the report, the threat was directed at Trump and the aircraft he was traveling on, rather than the newer plane itself.
