Report Questions Anti-Jewish Harassment Claims by King’s College London Student
A report has challenged claims made by King’s College London student Tali Smus that she was subjected to anti-Jewish harassment, arguing that available group chat records and witness accounts present a different picture.
Smus previously wrote that she was targeted by fellow students because she is Jewish and supports Israel. However, the report says chat logs reviewed by investigators differ from some of the quotations used in her published account and suggests that several messages were presented differently or lacked supporting evidence.
The report also highlights Smus’s links to several pro-Israel advocacy organizations, including Students Supporting Israel, StandWithUs and CAMERA. Fellow students interviewed for the report said disagreements were primarily over her public support for Israel and its actions in Gaza rather than her Jewish identity.
The report further notes that Smus participated in pro-Israel demonstrations on campus while remaining active in the student group chat. Neither Smus nor the newspaper that published her original article responded to requests for comment, according to the report.
