A four-month-old Palestinian infant reportedly died after his family was delayed for more than an hour at an Israeli military checkpoint while trying to reach a hospital near Ramallah, according to Palestinian officials.
The infant, Ahmed Marouf Zeid, was being taken for urgent medical treatment when Israeli forces allegedly prevented the family from passing through the checkpoint near Deir Ammar. Officials also claimed soldiers fired tear gas in the area, delaying access to medical care. The Israeli military had not commented on the incident.
In a separate event, the Palestinian Health Ministry said 16-year-old Walid Nidal Walid Abu Suneina was killed during an Israeli military raid on Qalandiya Refugee Camp, north of Jerusalem. Two other Palestinians were reportedly injured by live ammunition during the operation.
Palestinian officials condemned both incidents, accusing Israeli authorities of restricting medical access and using excessive force. The Israeli military had not immediately responded to the allegations.
