Israel Strike Destroys Gaza Warehouse Holding Nutrition Supplies for Children and Mothers
An Israeli military strike on a building near a humanitarian warehouse in central Gaza’s Deir el-Balah destroyed vital nutritional supplies intended for malnourished children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, according to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
The warehouse was operated by local humanitarian organisation Ard El Insan (AEI), which works with MAP to support around 60 medical points serving as many as 100 women and children every day.
The overnight explosion caused major parts of the building, including its roof and walls, to collapse. The nutritional supplies were buried beneath the rubble, with the entire stock damaged and deemed unsafe for human consumption.
AEI project coordinator Sahar Salem said the loss represents a major setback for humanitarian operations and will reduce their ability to provide essential support to vulnerable women and children.
The destruction comes as Gaza continues to face severe humanitarian challenges, including the consequences of prolonged food shortages and malnutrition. Aid organisations warn that losing critical nutritional supplies could further increase the difficulties faced by already vulnerable families.
