Hamas Condemns Israel Killing of Gaza Police Chief Jamal Abu Kamil
Hamas has condemned the killing of Colonel Jamal Abu Kamil, director of the civil police force in Gaza governorate, in an Israeli strike.
The group described the killing as part of what it called Israel’s continuing attacks against Palestinians and accused Israel of seeking to create chaos and lawlessness in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas said the death of the senior police official would further undermine security and stability in Gaza, while calling the attack another example of Israel’s ongoing military campaign.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than 1,250 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire took effect on 10 October 2025, highlighting the continued violence despite the truce.
