US Military Launches Fresh Iran Strikes as Tehran Targets Kuwait and Bahrain
The United States launched a new wave of military strikes on Iran, saying the operation was aimed at protecting commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz after recent attacks on cargo vessels.
The strikes targeted several locations along Iran’s southern coast, including Bandar Abbas, Chabahar and Konarak, causing power outages and damage to infrastructure, according to Iranian media.
Iran responded by launching missiles and drones toward Kuwait and Bahrain, both of which host US military bases. Kuwait said it intercepted incoming projectiles, while Qatar briefly raised its security alert before later lifting it.
US President Donald Trump said the latest military action was a response to attacks on commercial shipping and suggested the interim ceasefire with Iran had effectively ended. Iranian officials accused Washington of violating previous agreements and warned that further attacks would be met with retaliation.
The renewed confrontation has increased uncertainty over future nuclear negotiations and raised concerns about regional stability and global energy supplies.
