Turkey’s Fidan Says Israel Has No Intention of Pursuing Peace in Gaza
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has accused Israel of undermining efforts to implement the US-backed Gaza peace plan, saying Israel has no genuine intention of reaching a peace agreement.
Speaking to reporters, Fidan said Hamas had fulfilled many of its responsibilities under the proposed plan, while Israel continued to obstruct the process.
He argued that Israel was using negotiations to advance its own political and strategic objectives rather than working toward a lasting settlement.
Fidan also warned that what he described as Israel’s expansionist policies could have consequences far beyond Gaza and potentially contribute to a wider international crisis.
“Israel has no intention or plan for peace,” Fidan said.
His comments come as diplomatic efforts continue amid deep disagreements over the implementation of the Gaza peace plan and the future political and security arrangements in the territory.
