Trump Says Iran Ceasefire Is Over, Accuses Tehran of Breaking Commitments
US President Donald Trump has said the Iran ceasefire is effectively over, accusing Tehran of failing to honour the agreement and misrepresenting the terms of the deal.
Speaking at the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump said he no longer wanted to continue negotiations with Iran, calling further discussions a “waste of time.” He accused Iranian leaders of repeatedly denying commitments made during the ceasefire agreement signed on 17 June.
Trump said he would consult with his representatives, including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who have been involved in talks with Tehran. However, he insisted that any return to negotiations would depend on Iran.
The US president also warned that Iran should not obtain nuclear weapons, saying he believes Tehran would use them if it had the capability.
His comments came after renewed military exchanges between the United States and Iran, raising further doubts about the future of the fragile truce.
