A Palestinian commission recorded 19 attacks against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank between early Friday and around midday, with olive farmers and harvest activity among the targets. The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said its preliminary count was based on field reports gathered during the harvest season.
Farmers and olive groves targeted
The reported incidents included assaults on farmers, burning and uprooting trees, and damage to vehicles and agricultural property. In Tell, an attack on farmers included the burning of a vehicle. In Qusra, more than 50 olive trees were uprooted. Olive pickers were also targeted in Jurish, Beita, Naqoura, Birzeit, Deir Ibzi and Far’ata.
The commission also described an assault on a Palestinian man and his child in Yabroud, where their vehicle was taken. Vehicles came under attack in Sarda and Al-Rayhan, it said. The incidents were reported during the first half of Friday as farmers tried to reach their land.
Harvest season raises access concerns
Olive harvesting is an important source of income for many Palestinian households, and access to groves can be restricted by violence, road closures or damage to crops. Attacks during the short harvest period can therefore affect both immediate safety and family livelihoods.
The figures are preliminary and reflect the commission’s monitoring. The reported incidents have not all been independently verified. The scale and locations described point to a difficult start to the season for farmers across several West Bank communities.
Local authorities and rights groups have repeatedly called for protection for farmers and access to their land. The latest reports renew questions about safety and accountability during the harvest.
