Israeli Gunfire Kills Pregnant Palestinian Woman and Unborn Baby

A pregnant Palestinian woman has died after being shot by Israeli forces in the southern Gaza Strip, with her unborn baby also dying several hours later, according to relatives and medical workers.

The woman, identified as 27-year-old Iman Shalouf, was nearly eight months pregnant and was inside her family’s tent in the al-Mawasi area, south of Khan Younis, when she was struck by gunfire.

She was taken to Nasser Hospital, where doctors initially detected a heartbeat from her unborn baby. Both mother and child later died from their injuries. Relatives said the baby was due in November and had been named Ayoub.

The deaths came amid continuing Israeli attacks across Gaza despite the October 2025 ceasefire. Palestinian health officials reported that at least 10 Palestinians were killed and 56 wounded in Israeli attacks over a 48-hour period. The Israeli military said it was investigating the incidents.
