UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon reported that an Israeli tank struck and damaged their vehicles, raising concerns about the safety of international forces stationed in the conflict zone. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said the incident caused significant damage, though no injuries were reported.

UNIFIL stated the vehicles were clearly marked and located in a known position, urging an investigation and stressing that all parties must respect the safety and neutrality of UN personnel.

The incident follows a series of attacks on UN peacekeepers in recent weeks. In late March, three Indonesian peacekeepers were killed in southern Lebanon in separate incidents, while several others were injured in explosions targeting UN positions and convoys. UN officials warned that continued incidents risk undermining peacekeeping operations, as cross-border clashes between Israel and Hezbollah intensify.
