Israeli airstrikes killed at least two Palestinians and injured 12 others at a café near Gaza City's seaport on Sunday, according to local health officials. The café was reportedly crowded with people marking public holidays when it was hit.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military regarding the strike.

The attack comes despite a ceasefire brokered in October, which has failed to fully stop violence in Gaza. Israel and Hamas remain deadlocked in indirect negotiations over the next phase of the agreement, which includes discussions on Hamas's disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

Although the truce reduced large-scale fighting, Israel continues to control more than half of Gaza, while Hamas maintains authority over a limited coastal area. The café was located near the emergency seaport, a temporary floating dock established off Gaza’s coast.

According to Gaza health officials, around 900 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire took effect, while the Israeli military says four of its soldiers have been killed by militants during the same period.
