A senior Iranian military adviser has warned that a renewed conflict with the United States could extend as far as the Indian Ocean if Iran faces further attacks.
Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, an adviser to Iran’s supreme leader on military affairs, said the country’s armed forces had prepared plans for a range of possible scenarios. He said those preparations covered worst-case situations involving further US or Israeli attacks on Iranian facilities or national interests.
Adviser warns of a wider regional front
Safavi said any renewed attack could widen the conflict. He described the fighting as having spread from the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz toward the Red Sea, and warned that a future stage could extend to the Indian Ocean or other areas.
His remarks signal Tehran’s warning that further military action could bring a broader geographic escalation. The Indian Ocean was raised as a possible extension of a future conflict, not as a confirmed new theatre of fighting.
