Iran Says Strait of Hormuz Closed to All Vessels Over Israeli and US Actions

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has announced that the Strait of Hormuz is “closed to all vessels,” warning ships to stay away from the strategic waterway.

According to Iranian media reports, the IRGC said the decision was taken in response to what it described as Israeli actions in Lebanon and alleged US violations of commitments related to a ceasefire agreement.

The force warned that any vessel approaching the strait could face security risks, urging ships to avoid the area until further notice.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important maritime chokepoints, carrying a significant share of global oil and energy shipments. Any disruption to traffic through the waterway could have major implications for international trade and energy markets.

The announcement comes amid heightened tensions across the Middle East and growing concerns about regional security and freedom of navigation.
