19 Bodies Recovered From Rubble of Destroyed Gaza Building
Gaza civil defence crews have recovered 19 bodies, most of them women and children, from beneath the rubble of a destroyed residential building in Gaza City.
The recovery operation was completed on Saturday as teams continued efforts to retrieve people killed and buried beneath Gaza’s widespread destruction.
Civil defence workers have largely been forced to rely on manual methods because of a severe shortage of heavy machinery capable of clearing collapsed concrete and debris.
More than 8,000 people are still believed to be missing beneath the rubble across Gaza, according to local authorities, making recovery efforts increasingly difficult and time-consuming.
The latest recovery highlights the continuing humanitarian consequences of the destruction across the Gaza Strip and the challenges faced by rescue teams working with limited resources.
