Cyclospora Outbreak Infects More Than 4,100 People Across the US

A nationwide Cyclospora outbreak has infected more than 4,100 people across the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Health officials said the parasitic illness has been confirmed in 41 states, with 308 people requiring hospital treatment. No deaths have been reported.

US authorities are continuing to investigate the source of the outbreak. Reports have suggested that lettuce imported from Mexico may be linked to the infections, although Mexico’s Health Ministry has disputed that claim.

The CDC continues to monitor the outbreak as public health officials work to identify the exact source and prevent further infections.
