Complaint Filed in Italy Against Israeli Soldier Over Gaza Genocide Allegations

The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has filed a criminal complaint with prosecutors in Rome against Israeli soldier Arik Ben Asulin, accusing him of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide during Israel’s military operations in Gaza.

In its statement, HRF said the complaint is supported by social media posts allegedly linked to Ben Asulin, including videos of building demolitions and images showing him handling detonation equipment. The group argues the material indicates his direct participation in destruction operations and public endorsement of them.

According to HRF, Ben Asulin served in the Israeli army’s 749th Combat Engineering Battalion and is currently believed to be in Italy. The complaint alleges his involvement in the destruction of civilian infrastructure, including Al-Azhar University and residential areas in Shujaiya and the Netzarim Corridor.

The case invokes Italy’s universal jurisdiction laws under the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute, calling on prosecutors to open a formal investigation into the allegations.
