“Between Pain and Fear”: Gaza Children Bear the Cost of Ongoing Israeli Attacks
Children in Gaza continue to suffer severe physical and psychological harm amid ongoing Israeli attacks, despite claims of a ceasefire announced in October 2025, according to reports from Gaza City.
At al-Shifa Hospital, seven-year-old Hala Lubbad lies in her bed with serious burn injuries sustained in an Israeli attack on June 2. Medical sources say she suffered critical wounds to her hands and feet, leaving her in urgent need of long-term care.
In hospital, the young girl repeatedly calls out for her parents, asking, “Where is my mother? Where is my father?”, highlighting the emotional trauma faced by many injured children separated from their families during the conflict.
Doctors and aid workers describe an overwhelming situation in Gaza’s medical facilities, where shortages of resources and continuous casualties make treatment difficult. Many children are reported to be suffering not only from physical injuries but also from deep psychological distress caused by repeated exposure to violence.
The situation underscores the ongoing humanitarian crisis affecting Gaza’s youngest residents, who continue to bear the heaviest burden of the conflict despite international calls for restraint and ceasefire agreements.
