Yemen’s Houthis Claim Attack on Two Saudi Oil Tankers in the Red Sea
Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for an attack on two Saudi oil tankers traveling through the Red Sea, marking another escalation in regional maritime tensions.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the vessels, identified as Encelia and Layla, were targeted because they allegedly violated the naval blockade recently announced by the group.
The claimed attack comes only days after the Houthis declared a naval embargo on Saudi vessels, warning that ships breaching the restrictions could face military action. The incident highlights growing security concerns along one of the world's most important shipping routes.
