Winklevoss Twins Donate $10 Million After Selling Bitcoin to Trump Super PAC MAGA Inc.

Crypto entrepreneurs Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss have donated more than $10 million to MAGA Inc., the super PAC supporting U.S. President Donald Trump, after liquidating part of their Bitcoin holdings.

According to a recent campaign filing, each co-founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini contributed more than $5 million. The donation comes about a month after the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) asked a court to vacate the agency’s previous $5 million penalty against Gemini.

The Winklevoss twins have been vocal supporters of Trump’s cryptocurrency policies. In 2024, they donated nearly 31 Bitcoin, worth more than $2 million at the time, to Trump’s presidential campaign, arguing that his administration would create a more favorable environment for the crypto industry.

During the Biden administration, regulators pursued several enforcement actions against crypto firms, including Gemini. Since Trump returned to office, several cases involving crypto companies have been withdrawn, strengthening industry confidence.

MAGA Inc. has reportedly raised more than $400 million ahead of the upcoming U.S. midterm elections.

The twins, who founded Gemini in 2014 after becoming early Bitcoin investors, are widely believed to be among the largest individual Bitcoin holders. They have consistently praised Trump’s pro-Bitcoin and pro-business stance, saying it supports innovation and long-term growth in the U.S. crypto sector.

Earlier this year, Gemini also announced a $100 million Bitcoin-funded investment, while reporting 42% year-over-year revenue growth, although trading volumes remained lower following Bitcoin’s previous price decline.
