US-Iran 60-Day Negotiating Period Begins Thursday, VP Vance Says

US Vice President JD Vance has said that the 60-day negotiation period between the United States and Iran officially began on Thursday, following the implementation of a new agreement between the two countries.

Speaking to reporters, Vance explained that while the agreement took effect on Wednesday, the formal countdown for negotiations started a day later.

He indicated that both sides now have a 60-day window to engage in discussions aimed at advancing the terms of the agreement and addressing outstanding issues.

The comments mark the beginning of a key diplomatic phase in efforts to manage tensions and pursue a longer-term understanding between Washington and Tehran.
