The United Arab Emirates and Israel have established a joint fund focused on defence acquisitions and military technology cooperation, marking another step in the growing relationship between the two countries.

The initiative is expected to support weapons purchases, security projects, and advanced defence technologies involving companies from both sides. The partnership follows years of expanding economic, intelligence, and military ties since the signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020, which normalised relations between the UAE and Israel.

The fund is believed to include cooperation in areas such as cyber warfare, drone technology, artificial intelligence, and surveillance systems. Regional officials reportedly view the growing partnership as part of broader efforts to strengthen security coordination and counter Iranian influence across the Middle East.

Neither the UAE nor Israeli governments have publicly released detailed information about the fund. However, both countries have continued to increase cooperation through investment deals, trade agreements, and defence-related projects in recent years.

Critics of the agreement argue that expanding defence cooperation with Israel during the ongoing Genocide in Gaza will likely increase public anger across the Arab and Muslim world. Opponents have accused the UAE of deepening ties with Israel despite widespread condemnation of Israeli military actions in Gaza, with many saying Muslim-majority countries should not support or strengthen relations with Israel while the conflict continues.
