Trump Pauses Iran Strikes to Allow Talks With Tehran, US Envoy Mike Waltz Says

US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said President Donald Trump has paused military strikes on Iran to allow diplomatic efforts to continue.

Speaking to Fox News, Waltz said Trump was "giving a little bit of room" for talks with Tehran but did not provide details on the status of the negotiations.

The pause comes after US strikes stopped for two consecutive nights following 13 days of daily attacks. Iran also announced on Sunday that it was suspending attacks on Gulf states, raising hopes that tensions could ease if diplomatic efforts make progress.
