At least 22 people were killed and dozens more injured after Russia launched a large-scale wave of missile and drone attacks across Ukraine, according to Ukrainian officials.
The overnight strikes targeted several cities, including Kyiv, Dnipro and Kharkiv, damaging homes, civilian infrastructure and public buildings. Rescue workers were sent to impacted areas as emergency crews searched through debris for survivors and treated the wounded.
Officials in Dnipro reported multiple deaths after explosions struck residential districts, while authorities in Kharkiv said civilians, including children, were among those injured. In Kyiv, air raid sirens sounded throughout the night as residents sheltered during repeated explosions across the capital.
Ukraine’s air force said Russia launched hundreds of drones along with dozens of missiles in the assault. Air defence systems intercepted many of the incoming weapons, but several strikes still reached their targets, causing significant destruction.
The attacks marked another major escalation in the conflict and came amid continued fighting along the front lines. Ukrainian authorities warned residents to remain cautious as concerns grow over further large-scale Russian attacks in the coming days.
