Vance Warns Israel Against Criticizing US-Iran Deal
US Vice President JD Vance has warned Israeli officials against publicly criticizing the US-Iran deal, urging them not to alienate what he called Israel’s “only powerful ally.”
Speaking at the White House, Vance said members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet should “wake up and smell the reality,” arguing that Israel depends heavily on US political and military support.
He stressed that President Donald Trump is currently the only global leader strongly sympathetic to Israel, while also highlighting the scale of US military aid provided to the country.
Vance criticized Israeli ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich for opposing the deal, saying Israel cannot rely solely on military force to resolve its security challenges. He also noted that a large share of Israel’s defensive systems are funded and supplied by the United States.
His remarks come amid growing US-Israel tensions over the Iran agreement and broader regional military actions, with Washington urging restraint and support for the ceasefire framework.
