Russia launched a total of 948 drones at Ukraine within a 24-hour period, marking one of the largest aerial attacks since the war began.
Ukrainian officials said the wave of drones targeted multiple regions, putting air defence systems under intense pressure. Many of the drones were intercepted, but authorities reported damage to infrastructure and residential areas in several locations.
The large-scale assault comes amid continued fighting on the front lines and signals an escalation in Russia’s use of unmanned aerial vehicles. Drone attacks have become a central part of Moscow’s strategy, allowing strikes deep inside Ukrainian territory.
Officials have not confirmed the full extent of casualties, but emergency services were deployed across affected areas. Ukraine has repeatedly called for increased air defence support from its allies to counter the growing threat. The attack highlights the ongoing intensity of the conflict as both sides continue to exchange strikes.
