Report Claims Israel-Funded Network Sought to Influence AI Chatbot Responses on Gaza

An investigation has alleged that an Israel-funded digital influence network created online content aimed at shaping how artificial intelligence systems respond to questions about Gaza.

The report claims the operation, managed by former Trump campaign adviser Brad Parscale’s company Clock Tower X, involved a $46.5 million contract with the Israeli government and hundreds of articles promoting pro-Israel narratives.

According to the investigation, the network created multiple websites that presented themselves as independent sources while publishing content defending Israeli policies and challenging accusations related to the Gaza war.

Researchers said some AI platforms cited websites linked to the network when answering questions about Israel-related issues. However, experts noted that finding such content online does not necessarily prove it was used in AI training or that it directly changed chatbot responses.

The report also highlighted concerns that coordinated online campaigns could influence future AI systems by adding large amounts of targeted content to publicly available web archives.
