Pakistan and Qatar unveil US-Iran roadmap aiming for final deal within 60 days

Pakistan and Qatar said US-Iran talks held in Switzerland took place in a “positive and constructive atmosphere,” with mediators reporting progress on several key issues.

In a joint statement, the two countries said both sides agreed to establish a mechanism for continued technical discussions as they build on an earlier memorandum of understanding.

A High-Level Committee will oversee the mediation process, with chief negotiators reporting regularly and leading working groups focused on nuclear issues, sanctions, and monitoring and dispute resolution.

The parties also agreed on a 60-day roadmap aimed at reaching a final agreement. In addition, a direct communication channel was set up to reduce tensions, prevent misunderstandings, and ensure safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
