Lebanese Businessman Antoun Sehnaoui Hosts Netanyahu at Washington Dinner
Lebanese businessman and banker Antoun Sehnaoui hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a memorial dinner for US Senator Lindsey Graham in Washington.
The event, held at the Four Seasons hotel, was co-hosted by Sehnaoui and former US envoy Morgan Ortagus. Attendees reportedly included Graham’s family, US lawmakers, senior officials and Israel’s ambassador to Washington.
Sehnaoui, head of Societe Generale de Banque au Liban (SGBL) and wealth management firm Fidus, has faced controversy in Lebanon, including allegations related to money laundering and currency trading during the country’s financial crisis. SGBL has denied wrongdoing.
The meeting has drawn attention because Lebanon has no diplomatic relations with Israel and contact between Lebanese and Israeli citizens is legally prohibited. The event also comes amid ongoing Israeli military operations in Lebanon.
