Ferrari has unveiled its first fully electric vehicle, the Luce, marking one of the biggest shifts in the company’s history as the luxury carmaker moves into the high-performance EV market.
The four-door, five-seat vehicle was presented in Rome and features a fully electric drivetrain producing more than 1,000 horsepower through four electric motors. Ferrari says the Luce can reach 100 km/h in around 2.5 seconds and has a top speed exceeding 310 km/h.
The vehicle also offers a driving range of more than 500 kilometres on a single charge and was designed in collaboration with former Apple designer Jony Ive and his design firm LoveFrom. The unveiling drew mixed reactions from investors and car enthusiasts, with Ferrari shares falling by as much as 8 percent during trading before later recovering some losses. Ferrari described the Luce as a new direction for the brand while maintaining the company’s focus on luxury and performance. Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2026.
The Luce is expected to start at around €550,000, or roughly $640,000, placing it among the most expensive electric vehicles ever produced.
