Israeli Officials Discuss Renewed Gaza Emigration Plan, Report Says

Senior Israeli security officials have reportedly reopened discussions on a plan to encourage the emigration of Palestinians from Gaza, according to Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

The meeting, led by National Security Council chief Shmuel Ben Ezra, included representatives from the Israeli military, Shin Bet and Mossad. Officials reportedly reviewed proposals described as promoting "voluntary emigration" from Gaza.

According to the report, Mossad told the meeting it has not identified any country willing to accept Palestinians from Gaza, while defence officials questioned the urgency of revisiting a proposal that has repeatedly failed to gain international support.

The report also cited a security source suggesting the renewed discussions may be linked to broader diplomatic developments following the recent US-Iran agreement, although no official confirmation was provided.

The idea of relocating Palestinians from Gaza has been publicly supported by several senior Israeli politicians since 2023. Israel established a directorate for what it describes as "voluntary emigration" in 2025, though the proposal has faced widespread international opposition.

Separately, Likud lawmaker and Knesset Deputy Speaker Nissim Vaturi again called for the removal of Palestinians from the occupied West Bank, advocating expanded Israeli settlements. His remarks have drawn criticism and add to ongoing controversy over proposals affecting Palestinian populations in Gaza and the West Bank.
