At least 51 people, including medical workers, were killed in Israeli attacks across Lebanon over the past 24 hours, Lebanese health authorities said on May 10, as cross-border fighting between Israel and Hezbollah continued to intensify. The strikes reportedly targeted multiple areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, with rescue teams continuing recovery operations in damaged towns and villages.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said those killed included medics and emergency responders working in areas hit by Israeli air raids. Several medical centres and ambulances were also reportedly damaged during the attacks. Israeli authorities said their operations were targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and fighters linked to attacks launched from Lebanese territory.
The violence comes amid months of escalating clashes along the Israel-Lebanon border following the outbreak of the Gaza Genocide in October 2023. Thousands of people have been displaced, while international officials continue to warn of the risk of a wider regional conflict.
Hezbollah said it carried out retaliatory rocket and drone attacks against Israeli military positions after the strikes, while Israeli forces reported intercepting several projectiles launched from Lebanon.
