Israel Allocates Over $40M to Regain Support Among US Conservatives: Report
Israel has reportedly allocated more than $40 million to influence campaigns aimed at conservative audiences in the United States amid declining support and growing criticism over its policies, particularly regarding the conflict with Iran.
According to a report by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the government has significantly expanded its public relations efforts, focusing largely on right-wing Christian groups and Republican voters. The campaign, which began late last year, has recently shifted toward defending Israel’s actions against Iran and countering criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.
The report says the budget for the initiative was more than doubled as support for Israel weakened among some segments of the American public, including younger conservative voters. Messaging reportedly centers on issues related to Iran, China, and Qatar in an effort to shape public opinion.
Haaretz also reported that the campaign previously focused on combating antisemitism and promoting Israel’s position on Palestinian issues but has increasingly been used to justify the war against Iran and respond to criticism that Israel influenced US involvement in the conflict.
