Israeli Army Orders Evacuation of Gaza City Area Housing Displaced Palestinians
The Israeli army has ordered residents to evacuate a residential area north of the Al-Shati refugee camp in northwestern Gaza City, according to Anadolu Agency.
Witnesses said the area is home to tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians and local residents, many of whom are already living in difficult humanitarian conditions.
The evacuation order comes amid growing Israeli threats against residential neighbourhoods in Gaza. Israel has also threatened assassinations and evacuations over kites flown by children, despite the Israeli army acknowledging that kites recovered near Gaza contained no suspicious material and posed no danger.
The latest order has added to concerns among displaced Palestinians facing repeated demands to leave their homes and temporary shelters.
