Israel is reportedly considering a return to large-scale military operations in Gaza within the next two months, according to Channel 12, amid rising tensions over the fragile ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli broadcaster, citing officials, said Israel expects a US-led “Board of Peace” to conclude that Hamas has breached the ceasefire by refusing to disarm. Such a finding could provide justification for renewed military action in areas of Gaza not currently under Israeli control.

According to the report, the board—chaired by US President Donald Trump—was formed in January as part of a US-backed initiative to stabilise Gaza following the October ceasefire agreement. A political source also claimed that the board’s director-general, Nikolay Mladenov, had previously considered declaring Hamas in breach but delayed the decision at the request of mediators.

Officials reportedly believe a ruling could come within two to three months, potentially triggering renewed Israeli raids even before upcoming elections.

Despite the ceasefire, Israel has been accused of repeated violations, including ongoing strikes, expansion of buffer zones, and restrictions on humanitarian aid. More than 1,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed since the ceasefire began, according to the report.

Hamas has maintained that it will not discuss disarmament until Israel fulfills its obligations under the agreement’s first phase.
