Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson Hossein Mohebi told AFP on 22 September that Tehran had made its conditions for ending the war with the United States tougher. He linked the change to the collapse of a memorandum of understanding signed in June with the aim of ending hostilities.

Mohebi accused Washington of breaking the agreement and said the United States would have to accept Iran’s terms. He also warned that continued US actions would make the situation more difficult for Washington.

Warning of a stronger response

The IRGC spokesperson said Iran would intensify its response if the United States launched further attacks. He suggested Tehran’s response could move beyond retaliation, saying it would take a more offensive posture and draw on experience gained during the conflict.

The remarks reflect the IRGC’s position and warning; the live-blog update did not identify the specific act Mohebi described as a breach of the agreement. The June memorandum’s implementation had collapsed, leaving the path to ending hostilities uncertain.
