Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Warn of Wider War if US Attacks Again
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that Tehran would change its military strategy, weapons and the “geography of the war” if the United States launches another attack.
IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohibi said Iran has identified new targets that were not attacked during previous fighting and would introduce additional capabilities if hostilities resume. He also said Iran is prepared for a prolonged conflict.
The warning comes amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington, particularly over the Strait of Hormuz. Mohibi said the IRGC had not been involved in diplomatic contacts with the US.
The latest statement follows claims by Iranian military officials that Washington is considering renewed military operations. The US has not publicly confirmed that it plans another attack.
Iran and the US have remained at odds despite previous ceasefire and diplomatic efforts involving regional mediators. The latest IRGC warning signals that Tehran expects any renewed confrontation to potentially extend beyond the targets and battlefield areas involved in earlier fighting.
