Iran Warns of Retaliation if US Resumes Strikes
Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said on September 20 that it had received information indicating the United States had decided to resume military strikes against Iran, allegedly with the backing of some regional countries.
The Iranian military warned that any new US attack would trigger retaliation against American bases, forces and interests across the region. It also cautioned regional governments that supporting a new US campaign could make them parties to the conflict.
Iran did not identify the countries allegedly supporting Washington or provide independent evidence of the reported decision. The warning comes as tensions remain high following months of confrontation between Tehran and Washington.
The United States has been considering further military action, while diplomatic efforts to address the crisis continue. Iran has also maintained its position on the Strait of Hormuz, linking its reopening to conditions it says were included in an earlier agreement.
The latest warning raises concerns that renewed US military action could lead to a broader escalation across the Middle East.
