Iran Targets US Bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan as Regional Conflict Escalates
Iran launched missile and drone attacks on US military facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan following the 10th consecutive night of US strikes on Iranian targets. Tehran said the attacks targeted radar systems, air defence infrastructure and military installations in response to continued US operations.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it struck US military sites in Bahrain's Muharraq and Al-Riffa areas, as well as facilities used by the US Navy. Iranian officials also reported attacks on US bases in Kuwait, including Ahmed Al-Jaber, Ali Al Salem and Camp Arifjan, while claiming to have hit radar systems and military infrastructure at a US base in Jordan.
Iran also reaffirmed that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed while US military action continues. The IRGC said two tankers caught fire after entering routes it described as unauthorized, with rescue operations launched for their crews.
Meanwhile, political pressure is growing in Washington, where Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called for an end to the conflict and urged lawmakers to vote on ending US military operations. Oil prices edged lower amid reports of renewed diplomatic mediation efforts.
