Iran Says Strait of Hormuz Remains Under Its Control, Rejecting US Claims
Iran has rejected US claims of having full control over the Strait of Hormuz, calling Washington’s statements “baseless lies” and insisting that Tehran continues to control the strategic waterway.
Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said the US claims about the safe and normal passage of vessels through the strait were false and reflected confusion within the US military.
According to the Iranian military command, the Strait of Hormuz remains under the “full management and control” of Iran.
Iran also warned that commercial ships and oil tankers would not be able to safely pass through the strategic waterway without authorization and supervision from Iranian armed forces.
The statement directly contradicts US President Donald Trump’s recent claim that the United States has “total control” of the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting the sharply conflicting positions between Washington and Tehran over one of the world’s most important energy routes.
