Iran Accuses Israel of Escalation After Attacks on Oil Infrastructure
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) accused Israel of starting a “dangerous game” by targeting civilian areas and oil-related facilities amid rising regional tensions.
According to Iranian state media, the IRGC said it launched a missile strike against industrial targets in Haifa, northern Israel, in response to an Israeli attack on the Mahshahr petrochemical complex in southwestern Iran. Iranian officials reported that the strike caused partial damage to the facility.
The IRGC warned that continued escalation could have serious consequences for the global economy and blamed the United States for supporting Israel’s actions.
The exchange comes as tensions remain high following months of conflict between Iran, Israel, and their allies. Although a ceasefire was reached in April, disagreements over its implementation have fueled renewed confrontations across the region.
