Houthis Claim Attack on Saudi Military Base
Yemen’s Houthi movement says it launched a combined ballistic missile and drone attack on a Saudi military base in the southern region of Sharurah.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the operation targeted weapons depots and command-and-control facilities at the base. The group described the strikes as precise and direct.
The reported attack comes as fighting between Houthi forces and Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces intensifies. The Houthis have recently made significant gains along Yemen’s Red Sea coast, increasing pressure on Saudi Arabia and raising concerns about the security of major regional shipping routes.
The latest escalation adds to growing fears that Yemen’s renewed conflict could develop into a wider regional confrontation, with Saudi military and energy infrastructure increasingly exposed to attacks.
