Heavy rainfall has triggered flash floods in parts of Oman, prompting emergency responses and safety warnings from authorities.

The worst-affected areas include the northern region of Musandam, particularly around Khasab, where floodwaters surged through valleys and low-lying areas. Officials said emergency teams were deployed to assist residents and monitor the situation.

Authorities reported that at least one person was swept away by floodwaters, as conditions quickly worsened following intense rainfall. Residents were urged to avoid flooded roads and wadis, which can become dangerous within minutes.

The severe weather also brought strong winds and reduced visibility, disrupting travel and daily activities in affected regions. Flash flooding is a recurring risk in Oman during periods of heavy rain, with authorities regularly warning the public to remain cautious during unstable weather conditions.
