Hamas to Dissolve Gaza Leadership Bodies and Transfer Governance to National Committee
Human is reportedly preparing to dissolve the leadership body that has administered the Gaza Strip for nearly two decades, according to officials from the group.
The reported move would pave the way for a technocratic national committee made up of representatives from different Palestinian factions to take over governance in Gaza.
A Hamas official, speaking anonymously, said the movement plans to dissolve the current government committee and appoint a widely accepted national figure to oversee its work until the new National Committee for the Administration of Gaza formally assumes its responsibilities.
Another Hamas official described the decision as a significant step toward transferring governance to the new administrative body.
