Hamas Leader Khalil al-Hayya Outlines Priorities in First Official Statement
Newly elected Hamas Political Bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya has delivered his first public statement since assuming the movement's leadership.
In his address, Hayya said Hamas' immediate priorities are ending the bloodshed in Gaza and restoring a dignified life for Palestinians in the territory. He stressed the need to address the humanitarian crisis while continuing efforts to support the people of Gaza.
Hayya also highlighted the importance of the occupied West Bank, describing it as both a responsibility and a trust that remains central to the movement's agenda.
Calling for greater Palestinian cooperation, he said achieving national unity is one of Hamas' key priorities and reaffirmed the movement's willingness to engage with all Palestinian factions.
