Hamas has accused Nikolay Mladenov, head of the so-called Board of Peace in Gaza, of contributing to rising tensions in the enclave and called on him to stop what it described as incitement against Gaza and its leadership.

In a statement, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said the group is engaged in ongoing talks and meetings with relevant parties to contain the situation and push for an end to what it called the “aggression” in Gaza.

He said Hamas is working to implement a ceasefire agreement, particularly the requirement for Israel to meet its obligations under the initial phase of the deal. According to Qassem, failure to comply with these commitments could further escalate tensions.

Qassem also accused Mladenov of presenting misleading briefings in international forums and said his statements were contributing to worsening conditions on the ground.

He urged the international official to align with efforts aimed at ending the war, warning that further complications could be used to justify continued military operations in Gaza.
