Gaza War Update: Over 21,500 Children Killed as Conflict Reaches 1,000 Days

The Government Media Office in Gaza reported that more than 21,500 children, including 1,022 infants, have been killed since the conflict in the Gaza Strip began on 7 October 2023, as the war reached its 1,000th day.

According to the figures, the total Palestinian death toll has risen to 73,066, with 173,514 people injured. Among the wounded are more than 44,500 children. Around 9,500 people are still missing and are believed to be trapped under rubble.

The report also states that over 90% of buildings across the Gaza Strip have been damaged or destroyed, while roughly 80% of the territory is under Israeli control, based on local data.

International bodies continue to warn of a worsening humanitarian crisis. The United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF says more than 11,000 children have suffered life-changing injuries, including up to 4,000 amputations carried out in extreme medical conditions.

The conflict between Israel and Palestine continues to trigger widespread displacement, destruction, and humanitarian concerns across the Gaza Strip.
